Photography at its heart, is all about light. When you break down the word Photography means literaly means light representation, and so its no surprise you need great light in order to create a great image.
But what may surprise you, is how a photographer recognises the qualities of the light and is able to enhance it in the edit, because these days what you see is no longer what you get.
I took this shot of Nova out on one of regular walks on a Grey January day. To the naked eye lighting conditions aren’t great, but I knew all of the ingredients were there, ready to be teased out in the edit.
Traditionally the early part of the year is always a quiet time in the photography trade, ironically it can also has some of the best lighting conditions. But even on days like today, when the days are grey and dark, if you know what you are doing, you can still find magic.
